First experience in AAUN

Well AAUN, the first American University in Nigeria (i guess but not too sure) which is located in Yola. I was fortunate to get admission into this school, AAUN. It wasn't exactly planned for because i just got out of secondary school. My first day was a very sad one because i didnt see any face i had known in the past. It was very frustrating because my hopes on seeing someone i knew was very high. I have to admit it, i cried the first day because of two major reasons. This was my first time of leaving home to a far away place like this without anybody i knew. Although i went to a boarding secondary school, it wasnt exactly far away from home. Secondly, i knew nobody in this new, deserted area.
Although i was not happy leaving home, the reception i got in AAUN was OK. The professors were friendly inluding the Vice Presidents and the President of the University.

Look! Make the best of this opportunity.

I have a PhD and 'am an Expert in Wireless communication Engineering in the UK. I would advise you to study hard and look to the future. Nigeria in the next decade will not have a place for egg brain or rogue leaders like Atiku dem (abusing positions to enrich their wallet..or people with no proven track record of intel. and skills.. etc but brains to lead the country (in business, science, tech. international relations.....etc and to lead Africa- this great continent.

Where are the brains to lead Africa in the next decade? Where are the Leaders to exploit the resources of Africa and make this continent economic power in the world? Would you be one of such leaders? Start to work at it now!

My late father use to say these same words to me. He was one of the first Engineers in TV/Radio broadcasting. He laid an honest foundation for us to follow.

Making something out of nothing- denying urself for the growth and development/advancement of ur people/nation-That's what makes a great leader. Most of the great leaders of Europe/North America never lived to enjoyed their inputs/work. They sowed into the future of their nations, for the (then) unborn generations.

Sorry i am in a hurry- ihave some tech. papers to publish

Thanks

Femi O
